Green Spending Expected to Increase by 16% a Year

A report published today concludes that spending by large UK firms on energy, environment and sustainability initiatives will increase by 16% a year between 2012 and 2015 The largest areas of spend are projected to be on smart metering, electric vehicle and on-site renewable energy.

UK Progress Report on Renewable Energy

The Department for Energy and Climate Change has published a report setting out the progress the UK has made towards achieving its target to source 15% of all energy from renewable sources by 2020. The report shows that, overall, renewable energy accounted for only 3.3% of the UK’s total energy consumption.

Update on the Green Investment Bank

The Secretary of State for Business, Vince Cable MP, has issued a statement to Parliament setting out further details on the Government’s proposals for a Green Investment Bank. The statement confirms that Green Deal will now be eligible for support, but the Bank will not have any borrowing powers until 2015-16, at the earliest.

Annual Energy Statement & Energy Regulations Go Under the Spotlight
